I have been keeping rabbits and guinea pigs as pets for over 15 years.
I decided to start up a small rescue as i noticed how more and more small animals are being either abandoned or neglected, and I have also been told how many local rescues are full to the brim, some even having waiting lists to accept new residents.
Rabbits and guinea pigs are often easy to look after, however due to holidays, children getting bored with responsibility, ill health of the owner, and of course the new problem, the 'Credit Crunch' many people just cannot keep them.
I am lucky to have extremely understanding parents who allow me to fill their home and garden with waifs and strays, so I decided to put this advantage to good use and help out as much as I can with this problem.
*PLEASE NOTE* I am not in any way trying to compete with any other rescue organisations or indviduals. I am an animal lover with a big heart who is just trying to do my bit for the animal kingdom.
My aims are:
To never turn an animal away
To never put a healthy animal to sleep, regardless of how grumpy or unrehomeable it is
To provide any veterinary treatment required
To provide all the love and care needed while waiting for their forever home
To raise awareness of the proper care of animals and educate (as i feel that sometimes ignorance is the most common form of neglect, and the easiest to avoid!)
To never judge or critisize people that come to me to give up their animals and to remain sympathetic
